We’re in a great spot right here by the Little Belt. We’re spoiled with amazing nature and great connections to the rest of Denmark.

The list of towns, workplaces and experiences close to Fredericia is so long we can hardly fit it in here.

Do you dream of sea views on your run, communities that welcome you with open arms, great schools and happy children, creative environments, and a buzzing city with everything you need—and much more?

Living here, you can tick off far more things on your wish list than you might have thought possible.

Say yes to Fredericia

“Say yes to Fredericia” is our way of thinking and acting. A simple idea that brings dreams, visions, communities, everyday life, leisure time, experiences, housing options and job opportunities together in one direction.

Fredericia is a city of opportunities. Not because everything is handed to you, but because the will is there. “Say yes” is the core—a city built by people who dared to take chances, and who said yes to building, creating, investing, moving here and staying.

It’s not about luck. It’s about choices.

Fredericia says yes—because we can. Why would we say no?

Five wishes you can have fulfilled here:

  • Happy children in safe surroundings
  • Nature in your everyday life
  • Jobs and a career for life
  • Communities, associations and strong local communities
  • A city with all the essentials + culture and experiences all year round

A great childhood

In Fredericia, we really value happy school days, the beach and nature right on your doorstep, and leisure time with room for your interests.

We have daycare centres and schools in almost every local community, and a wealth of activities and clubs.

You’ll love living close to the large, free playground Madsby—and if you’re dreaming of a special twist on everyday life, you can choose a sports kindergarten, the Blue School with the sea and nature on the timetable, or pick musical and theatre as elective subjects in 9th grade.

Nature all around you

We’re right in the middle of Naturpark Lillebælt, Denmark’s largest nature park. When you live here, you’re never far from forest, beach and nature experiences.

It brings everyday joy when you can walk the dog in the green, cycle past the beach on your way home from school, or go kayaking on Wednesdays.

We also have 50 km of coastline and plenty of lovely beaches—five of them even have the Blue Flag. The forests at Trelde Næs are designated as one of the country’s most unique natural areas, and in Hannerup-Fuglsang Forest you’ll find mountain bike trails, a deer park and a forest playground.

Find your dream home

Traditional brick villa, 70s architecture, thatched roof, detached house, terraced house or a centrally located apartment with decorative plasterwork—or clean lines by the waterfront? The perfect home can be many things, and in Fredericia and the surrounding villages there’s an exciting selection for every taste.

Explore the villages and the neighbourhoods close to town. There’s definitely an area that suits you.
Are you looking for character and charm, an existing home or a new build—where you’ll be the first to put the key in the front door?

You’ll always find attractive building plots for sale if your dream home hasn’t been built yet.

“Fredericia was founded in 1650 by Frederik III as a royal fortress town, and Fredericia Ramparts are one of Northern Europe’s largest fortification systems”

A buzzing city life

Fredericia is a charming city with a rich history and a lively city life. The city centre is known for its cosy atmosphere, where you’ll find a wide range of shops, cafés and restaurants.

From the pedestrian streets in Fredericia, you can see the Little Belt and the beautiful green ramparts that surround the city centre. If you’re out shopping, you’ll find both cosy specialist shops and well-known chains and brands. The city is buzzing with experiences and events all year round, and the events calendar is packed with activities.

Fredericia is also a real city of culture. Did you know the country’s best musical theatre is right here? In fact, there are two critically acclaimed theatres, a cinema, venues with live music and stand-up, a library, a museum, and plenty of art and unique monuments around the city. For example, take an art walk in Kanalbyen and discover the area’s modern artworks.

When it comes to places to eat, Fredericia has something for every taste. Visit a Michelin restaurant with views of the Little Belt, or head into town to the cosy cafés and street food, where the whole family can find favourites on the menu.
