Harbour town and community

Skærbæk is beautifully located right on the Little Belt. Here, you have plenty of opportunities to become part of an active local community with lots of activities, clubs and communities. For example, there are community dinners, a knitting club, amateur theatre, tennis and a winter swimming club.

Skærbæk’s youngest residents enjoy themselves every day at the Fyrtårnet daycare centre, which has both a nursery and a kindergarten.

At Fjordbakkeskolen, children can attend school from Year 0 to Year 6, and in the neighbouring town of Taulov there is a lower secondary section for Years 7–9.

Taulov and Skærbæk share a lot, including Elbohallen, which offers a wide range of sports and cultural activities.

You don’t have to drive far to do your shopping, as there are shops in town. Skærbæk is located in the heart of the Triangle Region, and here you are close to infrastructure and workplaces. You can take the city bus to and from Fredericia.

Activities and associations

Skærbæk is known for strong local communities and engagement in the local area. There are many associations here that you can become part of.

For example, there is a local guild that meets up and lends a hand with maintenance and beautification of the town. There is also the Grønnere Skærbæk network, which works for more sustainability and biodiversity in the area.

Beach and nature

Here, you live right by the Little Belt and are surrounded by beautiful nature, such as the Blue Flag beach at Skærbæk Strandpark. The beach and forest area at Skærbæk Strandpark is perfect for everyday walks, trips to the beach and picnics. There is a bathing jetty and a combined boat and bathing jetty. In the forest area behind the beach, there are several trails and a shelter site.

From Skærbæk, it’s also not far to the Hagenør nature area, where you’ll find a marked hiking route along the coast and through the forest.
